It must be universal
A couple gentlemen that I know own and manage a thriving consultancy firm. To say they’ve been through a lot would be an understatement. I’ll spare the gory details, mostly because I only know stories, not facts, and they’re mostly irrelevant to the point of this post.
One of the many things that I appreciate about them is a similar viewpoint to mine on both obstacles and tragedies. It all becomes a matter of perspective and which facet of the diamond you are looking through. They tend to analyze the situation in a manner that allows them to identify a positive positive spin. Spin? Nay. Let’s say they choose to believe in the positive possible outcomes, borne from what may be a largely negative situation.
When events such as this occur, and I’ve been in the room when this happens, there’s an ‘aha!’ moment that leads to one of the two of them stating ‘this is the universe conspiring us to be successful!’ Or sometimes ‘That’s a very odd way for the universe to give us what we want?!’
The reason why I embrace this process is when I look on a chronology of my career paths, I see that there were plenty of moments that were absolutely negative, but it was a positive situation completely encrusted in what I assumed was negative. And to see success in the minds and activity of two others that precede me, and we share that philosophy? I have to admire that. That’s a way of thinking that is probably broad, but not entirely well adopted especially in business. Over the past few weeks I’ve been seen some things that could be interpreted both as exceptionally positive, and most assuredly negative. I’ve always been a glass-half-full of fortune-cookie-wisdom kind of guy , so allow me to pontificate. It is my site, after all.
I really enjoy what I do for a living. I rarely use titles. I absolutely love working with people. I love solving problems, and I love solving things that I can’t solve on my own. I like to ask experts for help. I’m a little frightened sometimes when I’m the expert. But I like that in this world where a frightening majority of information collected by the hole of civilization is at your fingertips. You still have to have a person somewhere to help you work it out. It gives me great sense of hope.
This week, I see enormous opportunities just hanging from trees, floating in the air, and sprouting up in lawns. Metaphorically, of course.
It’s spring. Things are waking up. Things are aligning in ways that seem to be showing me straight pathways to new things. If it is the universe, then I am all for it. If it is me creating patterns and doing some wishful thinking, then I am all for that too.
More to come.
